Book Now for the 2025 Summer Season

June 22 through September 20, 2025

How it all works:

We book six-night stays, Sunday to Saturday.  We, and our many guests who return year after year, have found that a weeklong stay allows guests to settle into the atmosphere and pace of the ranch.  The long journey into the mountains creates a real sense of separation from a busy world, which is enhanced by our limited internet and lack of cell coverage.  The ranch becomes a place to pause, think, learn new skills, and challenge oneself. You will have wonderful conversations, form lasting friendships, and have time to take advantage of all that this special place has to offer.  We will help you plan a week that is as focused as you would like it to be.

Rates include lodging, all meals and snacks, and guided horseback day rides.  They do not include transportation in and out of the ranch, guided fishing, alcoholic beverages (BYOB), state and local taxes, or discretionary gratuities for our staff (typically 10-20% of the cabin rate).

Families with children are most welcome!  Please note that we do not have supervision or special programs for kids, so it's 100% family time.  We welcome exclusive bookings of the ranch, which are particularly wonderful for multi-generational families, and a great way to introduce your children and grandchildren to the wilderness. Please inquire.

POLICIES

DOG POLICY: We do not allow dogs to accompany guests.

ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE:  Check-in time is 10AM or later on Sunday, departure is at 10AM the following Saturday.

HORSEBACK RIDING: Riders are required to sign a combined Acknowledgement of Risk & Liability Waiver. We require helmets for riders under 18, and have an ample supply for riders of all ages.

ABOUT YOUR CHARGES:

  • Deposits:  A 50% deposit of the weekly cabin rate is required to confirm your reservation. This is due upon booking.

  • Balance Due 90 Days Prior to Arrival:  Your final bill will include Wyoming taxes on the food (6%) and lodging (11%) portions of your stay. Recreation charges are not taxed. We accept major credit cards, checks, and cash.

  • Changes & Cancellations:  Because the Darwin is a small ranch, our cancelation policy is strict.  The 50% deposit is not refundable, unless we are able to rebook your reservation, in which case we will refund 90% of the deposit amount.  The remaining balance is likewise non-refundable, and is subject to the same refund policy and rate.  Please understand that cancelations after June 1st are very difficult to rebook. Unfortunately, credit cannot be given for late arrivals, early departures or reserved but unused spaces, except for extra persons.

  • Trip Insurance: We encourage you to purchase trip insurance to cover an unforeseen change of plans. The Dude Ranchers Association offers a comprehensive product for its members, through Travel Guard. Call Travel Guard directly at 877-249-5376, or follow this link: Travel Guard, and reference product number 109400. Alternatively, compare policies on insuremytrip.com. Please note that most Cancel for Any Reason policies must be purchased on the same day of your initial deposit.

  • Gratuities: We do not add a set service charge to your bill. Gratuities are at our guests’ discretion and, while not expected, they are much appreciated by our hard-working crew and are divided equally. Most guests tip 10-20% of their bill.
