Darwin Makers
Meet our Darwin Makers! These folks are some of the many people who have helped make our community so special. Whether they’ve worked on the ranch or are beloved figures in our surrounding neighborhood, we want to share our love for them with you all.
Walker Cammack
Walker Cammack is a trained forester and passionate cook who spends his free time hand carving spoons from wood that he collects locally. Currently based out of New England, he particularly likes working with sugar maple, black cherry, walnut, and birch, but enjoys utilizing whatever wood is around. Some of his favorite designs include cooking spoons, coffee scoops, salad spoons, and rice paddles. Send inquiries to wcammack55@gmail.com.
Della Fredericksen
Della specializes in western lifestyle photography where she is able to combine her love for the American West and the ranching way of life with her creative eye for photography. Della spent the Summer of 2020 working at Darwin capturing shots along the way. She also helped out with marketing and social media for the ranch. Check her out on instagram @dellpickles!

Darby Hertel
Darby has grown up in the Mountain West moving around between Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Oregon and Colorado. She’s worked at the Darwin Ranch and Ishawooa Mesa Ranch for many years. They both hold a very special place in her heart and play a prominent role in her art practice. She graduated from Colorado State University in the Spring of 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts in Integrated Visual Studies and a minor in Horticulture. She has concentrated her practice in drawing but also does printmaking, painting, and fiber work.
She often looks to memories and photos from her time at the Darwin or Ishawooa when creating artwork. Her drawing titled “Thelma and Louise” is inspired from her first solo packing expedition at the Darwin in summer 2020 when she packed her Dad into his hunting camp over by Strawberry Butte. She can be reached for available pieces at herteldarby@yahoo.com.
